Manak Mahotsav Celebrated by PTBO to observe World Standards day 14th October 2024. Following Activities conducted during Manak Mahotsav.

1.Quality Connect ( Youth to Youth Connect) :- Youth to youth connect has been conducted at 9 college standard club as follows

a)New Govt. Polytechnic Patna-13- PTBO started Quality connect campaign on 27.10.2024 with faculties and students of New Government Polytechnic College, Patna. Introduction of Quality connect app and sensitization of volunteers was done through demonstration and explanation about BIS. Dean, HODs and faculties were present.

b) Govt. Polytechnic Bhojpur- One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect program on 28.09.2024 at Government Polytechnic, Bhojpur, Ara. Principal Parshuram Mishra, mentor Rishikesh kumar along with 5 faculty members were also present in this session.

c)Govt. Engineering College Buxar- One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect program on 28.09.2024 at Government Engineering College, Buxar. Principal Dr. RN Roy, mentor Gautam Kumar along with faculties Gaurav Parmar, Md. Ahmed, Santosh Kumar and Dr. R N Yadav were also present in this session.

d)Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering – One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect program on 29.09.2024 at Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering, Bakhtiyarpur. Principal Dr. Kumar Surendra, mentor Vikash Kumar along with faculties. Dr Anil Singh Yadav, Sudarshan Kumar, Dr. Amitabh, Dr. Anupama were also present in this session.

e)Govt Polytechnic Barh – One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect program on 29.09.2024 at Government Polytechnic, Barh (NGP Building). Principal Dr. K.L. Pushkar, mentor Amit Rana along with faculties Rohan Sharma, Sameer Raj, Vishvavijay Pratap and Akanksha were also present in this session.

f)CIPET Hajipur- One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect program on 01.10.2024 at CIPET- Hajipur. Mentor Sadiya Preveen along with other faculties were present in this session.

g)Womens Govt Polytechnic Muzaffarpur- One day training session was organized for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect programme on 03.10.2024 at Women’s Govt Polytechnic Muzaffarpur. Principal Barun kr Roy, Mentor Ragini kumari along with other faculties were also present in this session.

h)MIT Muzaffarpur- On 03.10.2024 Bureau of Indian Standards, Patna Branch Office has organised one day training session for the volunteers of Youth to Youth Connect programme. Prof. Ashish Kumar, Asst. Prof Chetana Sagar along with other faculties were also present in this session.

Total 500 students participated in Quality Connect campaign which is undergoing.

Quality Connect for Industries

1.Ultratech cement, Fatuha organized quality connect for their employees on 24-10-2024

2.Dalmia cement ,Dehri onsone Rohtas organized quality connect for their employees on 24-10-2024

3.Bihar cement Plant Aurangabad organized quality connect for their employees on 27-10-2024

Stakeholders Conclave:-

a)CIPET Hajipur- Stakeholder Conclave organized by PTBO on 30 th September 2024 at CIPET Hajipur along with food conclave organized by CIPET Hajipur. Conclave was attended by industry , licensees, faculties, lab personnel, govt. officials and students with about 100 participants. Director CIPET Shri Sanjay Kumar Chowdhury, Senior Technical officer Shri Ramswaroop Singh, Shri Ejaj Ahmad, Sc C Himanshu Kumar and Head PTBO made presentations about SDG9, WSD theme, BIS certification etc.

b)Bihar Chamber of Commerce & Industries- PTBO organized Stakeholders Conclave at Bihar Chamber of Commerce & Industries on 07th October 2024. The program was attended by more than 100 participants from govt, traders. Industry association, technical institutes, students and faculties and jewelry association. Welcome address was delivered by Shri S. K. Gupta, Director & Head PTBO. The program was chaired by Chief Guest Shri Abhyanand, EX-DGP, Bihar. Shi Subhash Kr. Patwari (President, Bihar Chamber of Commerce) addressed the industry representatives. Shri Sudhanshu Suman, (Sc.-C) presented the overview of BIS. Shri Himanshu Kumar (Sc.-C) presented the Role of BIS in Achieving SDG-9 Goals, Sh. Vijay Kr. Gaurav (Sc.-D/Joint Director) presented recent initiatives by BIS & Mandatory Standards. Faculties & 20 Standards Club Members of New Govt. Polytechnic also attended the event.

World Standards day Event on 18th October 2024 at Adhiveshan Bhawan-

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Patna Branch Office celebrated Manak Mahotsava on 18th October 2024 on the ocassion of World’s Standard Day at Adhiveshan Bhawan, Old secretariat campus, Patna.

The theme of this year’s celebration was “Shared Vision for a Better World – Industry, innovation, and infrastructure.” (incorporating SDG:9).The chief guest of the function was Hon’ble MP, Lok sabha Shri Ravishankar Prasad. The event also witnessed participation from other prominent guests such as Shri. K.P.S. Kesri, President BIA, Prof.(Dr) A.K. Thakur Dean Academic, IIT-Patna, Dr. Yogesh Kumar, professor Department of physiology, AIIMS Patna, Dr. Amit Kumar, HOD- Mechanical (NIT-Patna), Shri Jai Prakash Narayan chairman Institution of Engineers, Patna Shri Sanjay Kumar Choudhary, Director , CIPET Hajipur

The welcome address was delivered by Shri. S.K. Gupta, Director & Head PTBO. Various Speech were delivered by dignitary present on dias. Shri Kaushik Datta, Head PBOL, read the message of ISO, IEC&ITU. Officers of PTBO and PBOL presented on BIS, new initiative ,Lab recognition scheme and theme presentation .

Hon’ble MP, Shri Ravishankar Prasad, Chief guest, addressed the gathering of BIS officials, industry representatives, academicians, students and media persons and highlighted the importance of standards in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, especially the goal of SDG-9: Industry innovation and infrastructure. He appreciated the role of BIS in developing and promoting standards that ensure quality, safety and reliability of products and services. He also urged to take the standards and different schemes of BIS to village peoples through the Nukkad Natak and Manak Doot.

In the technical session, various presentations on the theme of SDGs were done by the dignitaries, which included IIT Patna. Start-up ecosystem of BIA, Ultratech Cement, Dr Yogesh of AIIMS Patna and CIPET Hajipur. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Gaurav Meena, Sc.-C, to the chief guest, the dignitaries, the participants and the media for their active participation.
