a. Enforcement Activity:

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducts enforcement activities to prevent violations of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) and the misuse of the Standard Mark by dishonest sellers, dealers, traders, distributors, and manufacturers. Information about such violations may come from sources such as newspapers, journals, advertisements, complaints, consumer associations, and manufacturing associations. After conducting an investigation, enforcement actions are taken in accordance with the Guidelines for Enforcement outlined below.
