Chennai Branch Office was divided into MDC-I (Marks Department, Chennai – I) dealing with Food, Agriculture, Textiles, Medical & Hospital Equipments , Petroleum and related products and MDC-II (Marks Department, Chennai – II) dealing with Civil, Electrical, Metallurgical products in 1988. Subsequently, MDC – I was renamed as CNBO-II (Chennai Branch Office -II).
