Madurai Branch Office(MDBO)

Madurai Branch Office (MDBO) has been in operation with effect from 1st March 2021 and is presently operating from Bureau of Indian Standards, Southern Regional Office premises located at Chennai.
This Branch Office was created to cater to the needs of the industry and promoting industry pertaining to 19 districts of Tamil Nadu and one District of Puducherry. After reorganization of BOs, the Jurisdiction of Madurai Branch Office is as follows:

MDBO is presently operating over 700 Product Certification licences and 3900 Hallmarking licences. MDBO would be functioning from First Floor, SIDCO Centre of Excellence Building, Women Industrial Park, Thoppur, Kappalur, Madurai-625008 shortly.

Grievance Redressal

BIS follows a well-established complaint redressal procedure. Complaints are recorded centrally at Complaints Management and Enforcement Department (CMED).
