भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (बीआइएस), भारत का राष्ट्रीय मानक निकाय है, जिसकी स्थापना बीआइएस अधिनियम 2016 के तहत मानकीकरण , अंकन और गुणवत्ता प्रमाणन की गतिविधियों के सामंजस्यपूर्ण विकास और उससे जुड़े प्रासंगिक मामलों के लिए किया गया है । गतिविधियों का विवरण बीआइएस वेबसाइट www.bis.gov.in पर उपलब्ध है । भोपाल शाखा कार्यालय (बीपीबीओ) ब्यूरो के केंद्रीय क्षेत्रीय कार्यालय (सीआरओ) के अंतर्गत काम कर रहा है और उत्पाद प्रमाणन एवं हाँलमार्किंग योजना के साथ-साथ मध्य प्रदेश राज्य में प्रवर्तन गतिविधियाँ, शिकायत निवारण और प्रचार प्रसार गतिविधियों को देखता है ।

BIS follows a well-established complaint redressal procedure. Complaints are recorded centrally at Complaints Management and Enforcement Department (CMED). Complaints can be made both offline and online. Online complaint can be made through mobile app BIS CARE or by use of Consumer Engagement Portal.
