गुवाहाटी — जिसे उत्तर-पूर्व भारत का प्रवेश द्वार भी कहा जाता है, ब्रह्मपुत्र नदी के किनारे बसा एक सुंदर शहर है। भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (BIS) का गुवाहाटी शाखा कार्यालय भारत के 7 (सात) उत्तर-पूर्वी राज्यों के लिए भारतीय मानक ब्यूरो (BIS) की विभिन्न गतिविधियों जैसे उत्पाद प्रमाणन, हॉलमार्किंग, विभिन्न प्रशिक्षण एवं उपभोक्ता जागरूकता कार्यक्रम, राज्य स्तरीय समिति बैठकें, शैक्षिक उपयोग कार्यक्रम, स्वयं सहायता समूहों (SHGs), गैर-सरकारी संगठनों (NGOs) एवं उपभोक्ता संगठनों के साथ सहभागिता तथा प्रवर्तन गतिविधियों का संचालन करता है।
