Guwahati Branch Office of BIS caters to the 7 (seven) North Eastern States of India for for the various activities of BIS including Product Certification, Hallmarking, Various Training and Consumer Awareness Programmes, State Level Committee Meetings, Educational Utilization Programmes, Engagement with other SHGs, NGOs and Consumer Organizations and Enforcement Activities.

Guwahati Branch Office is currently having a total of more than 650 BIS licenses covering various products with 82 different Indian Standard Specifications (ISS). The Office also has more than 1000 registered jewelers who are selling BIS Hallmarked Gold and Silver Jewellery and artifacts.

Apart from this, we also hold various licensee and non licensee meet, consumer Awareness Programmes, Educational Utilization Programmes at schools and colleges to spread awareness about BIS standard Marked products and also Indian Standards through Virtual Conferences as well as various functions from time to time.

Standard marked products signifies quality, reliability and assurance of safety to the consumers. As such, we urge consumers to seek only ISI marked products (also called standard marked products) whenever and wherever possible.
