The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is the National Standards Body of India, established under BIS Act, 2016 engaged in formulation of Indian Standards for products, processes & services. It also monitors the implementation of standards through its conformity assessment activity and periodic factory and market surveillance to ensure sustained compliance and excellence.
