Who we are
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), is the National Standards Body of India, established under the BIS Act, 2016. It is carrying out work pertaining to the formulation of Indian Standards for products, processes and services, and monitoring the implementation of the standards through various Certification schemes. We also have 8 laboratories throughout India primarily for captive testing. The details of BIS and its work can be read in our parent website: https://bis.gov.in. JDBO is working under the Eastern Regional Office of the Bureau and looks after the work of the Product Certification and Hallmarking Schemes operated by the Bureau in the state of Jharkhand.
