Pune branch office is the custodian of more than 1550 product certification licenses and more than 10700 hallmarking licenses. With the Central Government bringing more and more products under the ambit of mandatory certification and the development of quality consciousness among consumers, around 30 new certification licenses are added every month for various products under Pune Branch Office, Pune.

Pune Branch Office was formally established in the year 1997 at Institution of Engineers Building, Shivajinagar, Pune. Out of the licenses granted by Pune Branch Office in 1997, fourteen licenses are still operational. Earlier, the Pune office was functioning as an inspection office at various locations in Pune. Later, in October 1999, the office shifted to Plot No. 657 to 660, MAIDC Building, Gultekdi, Market Yard, Pune.

As per the details available on the Manak Online portal, the first three operative licenses are (1) Industrial Electronics and Allied Products (CM/L-0196043) (2) Vanaz Engineers Limited (CM/L-0258746) and (3) Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (0290641).
