Guwahati - also known as The Gateway to North East India, is a beautiful city sprawling besides the Brahmaputra river. Guwahati Branch Office of BIS caters to the 7 (seven) North Eastern States of India for for the various activities of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) including Product Certification, Hallmarking, Various Training and Consumer Awareness Programmes, State Level Committee Meetings, Educational Utilization Programmes, Engagement with other SHGs, NGOs and Consumer Organizations and Enforcement Activities.
BIS follows a well-established complaint redressal procedure. Complaints are recorded centrally at Complaints Management and Enforcement Department (CMED). Complaints can be made both offline and online. Online complaint can be made through mobile app BIS CARE or by use of Consumer Engagement Portal.
