Jaipur Branch Office was established on 15 September 1977 to serve Rajasthan, India’s largest State by area. A land of rich heritage, vibrant art and culture, abundant natural resources, highly skilled human resources and entrepreneurship, Rajasthan is fast emerging as a key industrial destination in India. JPBO caters to the industries in 26 Districts of the State of Rajasthan namely Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dausa, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Nagaur, Pali, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Sirohi, Tonk, Udaipur. Major Activities of JPBO include Grant of product certification licenses and monitoring their performance, Grant of Hallmarking registrations and monitoring their performance, Standards promotion and Consumer Awareness & Protection Activity. JPBO is certifying 382 different Indian Standards and major products covered under certification include Plastic Pipes & Fittings, Electric cables & Conductors, Steel Products, Packaged Drinking Water, Cement, Outdoor Type Distribution Transformers, Plywood & Wood Products etc. Approximately 84% of JPBO licenses are held by MSME Industry and more than 56% of licenses are under the voluntary certification regime. In addition to the above, JPBO has more than 9572 Registrations for hallmarking and currently 92 Assaying and Hallmarking Centres are working in the districts under its jurisdiction.
