CHBO-II is working under the Northern Regional Office and looks after the work of the product certification and hallmarking scheme operated by the bureau. Post the reorganisation of BIS Branch Offices, CHBO-II has jurisdiction over 06 Districts of the State of Punjab, as under:

Hoshiarpur
Kapurthala
Tarn Taran
Amritsar
Other districts of the State are dealt by Chandigarh Branch Office-I.
As on 31 August 2021, CHBO-II has 1466 operative licences covering 1210 voluntary and 256 mandatory Indian standards published by various technical departments like Civil Engineering Dept, Food and Agriculture Dept, Mechanical Engineering Dept, etc.Apart from product certification, CHBO-II has around 1500 operative registrations for jewellers under hallmarking scheme.
