(English) The Haryana Branch Office (HRBO) of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is committed to promoting quality, safety, and standardization across Haryana. Since its inception with 437 product certification licenses, HRBO has grown steadily to oversee 1,758 licenses as of July 24, 2025. HRBO provides essential services in Product Certification, Hallmarking, Standard Promotion, Training, and Enforcement across 12 districts of the state.
As part of the National Standards Body of India, operating under the BIS Act, 2016, HRBO plays a crucial role in formulating Indian Standards and ensuring compliance through robust conformity assessment, factory audits, and market surveillance.
Building a Stronger Quality Ecosystem
In 2025, HRBO focused on expanding its outreach and impact through:
Quality Connect Campaigns
Gram Panchayat Sensitization Programs, Gram Chaupals to engage rural communities directly
District-Level Officer Trainings and Capacity Building Programs for key stakeholders
Consumer Awareness Drives to inform citizens about the importance of standards and quality
Engagement with youth through Standards Clubs, MoUs with academic institutions, and Student Chapters
